JOSHUA LEE ALLRED

Josh is the oldest of the Allred boys. He was born Nov 20, 1987. Josh began to ask questions about salvation when he was about 3 years old after listening to lessons in SS and reading bible stories at home with his parents. But, his interest seemed to pass. Then, just before his 5th birthday, he talked very seriously with his Dad and realized that he needed to be saved. He accepted the Lord as his savior that day and was baptized the next year.

As long as Josh was at home, he took part in evangelism and discipleship, played the guitar and sang in the choir, taught children’s and teen’s classes, went on several medical mission trips, translated for English speaking guests, and did much of the secretarial work. He played a very vital role in the planting and early development of the North Merida Baptist Church and its first mission work. He is currently completing his college requirements and preparing himself to return to Mexico as a full-time missionary.

DAVID PAUL ALLRED

David is the second of the Allred boys and was born Jan 27, 1990. David also began to show an interest in spiritual things about the age of 3 or 4. One day while playing outside, he came up to his Mom and told her he thought that he needed to pray and get saved. So, after questioning him to make sure he understood the decision he was making, his Mom prayed with him and he received the Lord as his personal savior. He, too was baptized soon after his decision for salvation.

David has also had a key role in the various ministries of the church, such as: evangelism and discipleship, teaching preschool classes, running the sound system, going on medical mission trips, and doing much of the general church maintenance and repairs. David has also used his talent in art for the work of the Lord by painting many of the backdrops for plays, designing the tracts and bulletins, and doing decorative painting in the children’s classrooms. David will be attending Bible College in 2008 as he seeks God’s will for his life.
